During this freshman year summer vacation, I join the Georgetown University Online Summer Camp. The course name was "Psychology: How the Brain Influences Behavior". Finishing this course made me memorize a lot of psychological concepts; they are really interesting to me.

This was the instruction for my Module 1 assignment.

In Module 1, I learned how psychologists use the scientific method to study human behavior instead of just depending on personal opinions.

I learned the difference between experimental and non-experimental research and why experiments are needed to find cause and effect.

I also learned about independent variables, dependent variables, controlled variables, and how researchers measure psychological constructs.

I learned that surveys and samples need to represent the population well, because bias can make research results less accurate.

Overall, this module helped me understand that psychology is a science that depends on careful research, measurement, and reliable data.
